Alas, it's a pass. She didn't feel confident she could sell it. 4-25-21
After 5 months off the radar, I've finally sent in my second R&R request from Jennie. She said it would be after the new year before she could get to it.

Historical Fantasy
11- 19-19

Sent a nudge on 6/29/20 about my second R&R request and waiting to hear back.

Partial sent: 07/21/21
Reject: 09/20/21

It seemed she rejected only due to personal circumstances. She said my writing was lovely and she awaits seeing my sale. She's a lovely person and I'll be querying her again if I still am with my next project.

EQ (50 pages): 12/17/18 YA fantasy
R&R 04/17/19
R&R sent: 7/08/19 (story is now upper Mg).

Jennie sounded excited to read but said it’ll be several months before she gets around to it. But to let her know if I get any news. Via offer of rep.

As of today, 1-18-21, there’s been no word from Jennie, so closing this one out to focus on a new book and direction. CNR.

Jennie read an earlier version of my YA novel when she was with her previous agency. I emailed her and she graciously agreed to take a look at my newly revised version. She like many of the changes I made, but not well enough....

I received an R&R from Jennie about a month ago, and she's wonderful. Hopefully, I can send the submission to her when she lands at another agency. Thanks for the link Patchi.

R&R sent >> jennie@redfoxliterary.com 12/11/2018 YA. She confirmed receipt immediately.

5/9 She sent detailed notes with further suggestions should I revise again, and she'd re-read.

Full sent same day, with no response. Nudged on 3/27 to for confirmation of receipt and she DID receive - and was also clear that 1) her response time to queries is slower now that her clients are on submission and 2) to check Twitter for most recent updates. I appreciated her quick response to my email :)

R&R received 9/25: very detailed, extremely helpful feedback.
R&R submitted 10/23: received email confirmation of receipt.

Dryadwriter, She does replay to all queries. I know she's behind that's why she closed to queries. The rate isn't always accurate because people don't record.

Dryadwriter, Her reply rate is about 60%, and it looks like the last reply recorded by query tracker users was June 3rd

Does anybody know if she responds to all queries she receives?

She emailed last night to let me know she's starting to read my MS.
Awesome points! It's so refreshing to have an agent acknowledge you while querying. I feel all warm and fuzzy now. :)

She gave wonderful feedback and asked for R&R 5/29

A lovely personalized helpful rejection from Jennie, explaining my work wasn't right for her list at the moment but she is glad I am writing what I am (MH issues). The personal touches were wonderful, and she seems like a wonderful agent to work with. Good luck to everyone querying her! Jennie seems great.

Short note about liking my characters but it wasn't right for her list at this time.

Okay, after this positive experience, i queried her almost immediately with a second YA manuscript that I had written. I did not get a confirmation of receipt or hear from her, so after several months, I resent it. I received an auto-confirmation stating that if you did not hear from them in 8 weeks, that it was not right for their agency and to wait 6 months before submitting another manuscript. This information is not on their website. Plus, they have changed their initial requirements from when I first submitted. Initially it was only a query letter. If you look at her timeline, you will see she requested lots of partials at first. The next time I submitted, it said to include the first 14 pages with your query, which I did. I never received the auto confirmation of receipt for the second query. When I saw on Twitter that she was through March 11 on queries, i resent the second manuscript query. I received a note from Jennie this AM referring me to what it stated in the auto confirmation. I wrote back explaining my reasoning and said I would resubmit at a later date. Bugs me that they are not clear initially, then tell you that you have not followed submission procedure.

A lovely, personalized rejection from Jennie today. Best of luck to anyone who has a submission out with her. She seems like a careful, kind, and conscientious agent.
