I had a very similar experience with Amy/Metamorphosis (and know two other writers with her or another agent there who also left). Ended up having my novel published with a small press and now having issues with that press not paying their authors. I am querying again for my next novel because I decided to leave instead of sticking it out to see if they get better. I do think the owner might be able to get sales.

I had a different agent, but Metamorphosis was pretty suspect altogether. They asked authors to mock covers to books so it looks like they'd sold more. I was told I'd be submitted to Scholastic then after 6-7 months pushed towards independent pubs I could have approached without rep. Emails went months without response, I don't have any evidence my books was legitimately being sent out. When I notified them I wanted to part ways they tried to sneak in a confidentiality agreement and told me I'd be held to the rest of the year if I didn't sign it.

8/1/22 - Query
8/9/22 - Full Request
9/29/22 - Rejection. Said it's to do with the current market and suggested I look into Wattpad.
