A very nice note about possible ways to tighten my opening chapters. I really appreciate that she took the time and it's clear she read it.

Think I was on her maybe pile, as my rejection took a little longer than others to come along, but there was a suggestion about what could be done differently in the first chapter. A lovely agent that I'd query again.

Rejected 7/5/24

While very kind, this is indeed her form rejection.

"Thank you so much for giving me a chance to see (X).

I've now had a chance to review your query and I'm sorry to say I don't feel I'm connecting wholeheartedly with your writing, despite its many charms. So at this time, I feel it best to step aside.

Please know that this is a very subjective business and that tastes range widely among agents. Someone else may feel very differently and you deserve someone who is passionate about your work and is confident about their ability to position it.

I truly appreciate the look and wish you nothing but the best of luck with your future endeavors."
