Success Story Interview - Kristina White

An Interview with Kristina White (kristinawauthor on QT) upon receiving an offer of representation from agent Marina Green of P.S. Literary Agency.

QT: Can you tell us a little bit about the book for which you've found representation? What inspired you to write it?

Kristina White:
It's a contemporary fantasy rom-com inspired by my own experience. In my story, Lizzie is an immortal Valkyrie who's been alive for 700 years, and she's over it. She's exhausted and overwhelmed! She hires a Demon Slayer to... you know, take her out, but he's new to the job and doesn't know how to slay her. Hijinks ensue.

QT: How long have you been working on this book?

Kristina White:
The idea for this book started percolating years ago, but it took a long time to figure out exactly how to tell the story. I started writing this version of it at the beginning of 2025.

QT: Did you have beta readers for your book?

Kristina White:
I had three beta readers, plus a writing group. My writing group has authors from outside my genre, including nonfiction, literary fiction, and poetry! Their suggestions are surprisingly helpful. I recommend getting feedback from people who don't live and breathe your genre.

QT: How long have you been querying for this book? Other books?

Kristina White:
I started querying in May of 2025 and signed with an agent in August 2025.
