Always verify publisher's information before sending your query. Verify the publisher's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the publisher is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for publisher information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the publisher's website.

Leave comments about your experiences with this publisher, or read what other authors have to say.

Thank you for your interest in Samhain Publishing.

We regret that Samhain Publishing is in the process of closing down, so we're no longer considering submissions of manuscripts.

We apologize for any disappointment and, again, thank you for thinking of us for your manuscript.
Best wishes,

I knew they were closing but it was nice they emailed people waiting to hear back.

Pitched Romantic Suspense to Lindsay Faber at conference and she requested I send full when finished. Received a person rejection with helpful info (I’m afraid I don’t have any usefully specific reasons for not doing so. Your writing is clean and vivid, and you have a strong premise. Unfortunately, I found that I wasn’t sufficiently engaging with the characters. This is, of course, an entirely subjective reaction, and it may be that another editor feels very differently.) from Imogen Howsen. Helped me focus on characterization.
