Regarding the length of time they are taking to respond to the open house submissions, I am just wondering: Even if they are interested in a project, wouldn't they still need to request the full before making a decision? We were only permitted to upload the first ten pages. I would assume they would not make an offer to publish based only on a ten page sample. At best, it seems all they would be able to do is narrow down to a list of possible candidates based on the samples. This means there could be potentially a whole additional round of waiting for a final decision. I was wondering if anyone else has additional insight into how this procedure might work.

Adult historical romance 85k

Honestly I wasn't expecting to hear back this fast. Agent Joana Volpe said in a panel interview that its super common for these open call things to take over a year to respond to everyone.

Anyone else's query just *disappear* from the timeline? I pulled up a year, and it's only showing, like 49 queries- and there used to be about 170, I think? What happened/ I mean, even if rejected, the query should still show up. My other queries are right.

I know someone who got a rejection fairly early... I think maybe toward the end of January? I haven't heard of anyone else receiving a response yet. They claimed they were going to respond to everyone, but who knows what kind of timeline that is?
