EQ: 5/29/18 - Callie-lynn Wolfe
5/30/18 - Email confirming receipt of my query and that it was forwarded to the senior editor on the Black Rose Line. It will be assigned and reviewed. I should hear back in 45 days.
6/18/18 - Lara Parker requested the first 3-4 chapters. Sent.
6/22/18 - Lara Parker recommended rejection based on passive language & wordy phrasing around dialogue. However, she offered me the opportunity to re-write and re-submit. Working on edits now. She asked I submit the first half of the manuscript.
7/4/18 - Re-submitted half of the manuscript with the edits Lara Parker Suggested. Fingers crossed people!!
7/10/18 - Rejected. My writing is still too passive and more telling rather than showing.
7/19/18 - Asked if I could resubmit after substantial re-writes. Was told I could.
9/4/18 - Re-submitted
9/6/18 - Email confirming receipt. Fingers crossed I have made enough improvements to move forward.
9/26/18 - Rejection VERY Personal. I really appreciate this agency.

Thank you so very much for sending this for review again. The changes you made i the beginning of the story were superb. Kudos to you. Unfortunately, in order for us to consider it for publication it still needs a lot of work. Therefore, I'd advise you to take the other contract and continue honing your skills. You have talent and I see a bright future, you just need to work on concise tight writing.

Again, thank you for resubmitting. I hope your story is wildly successful and we see another submission from you in the future.

Contemporary Romance 75K

Editor gave quite a lengthy commentary on what she thought was wrong with what I'd submitted and she repeatedly referred to a character named "Josh." There is NO character named Josh in this novel. Well, take this rejection with a grain of salt.
