Always verify publisher's information before sending your query. Verify the publisher's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the publisher is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for publisher information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the publisher's website.

6/6/21 EQ
6/7/21 Received email saying my submission was being forwarded to an editor and that I would hear back within 60 days.
7/26/21 Received a rejection, which included some constructive feedback. The editor also suggested that I consider writing a series or at least a trilogy.

So...they don't want to publish my book but want me to write more books that they won't publish??

EQ: 03/04/2019 Dark Thriller
03/04/2019: received message saying they got my email and sent it to Senior Editor, and I should hear back in 45 days.

03/06/2019: message received by Senior Editor saying query will be reviewed in Crimson Rose by a member of the staff who will be in contact soon.
03/07/2019: message received from the editor in charge of reviewing my submission saying she will have an answer for me by April 4.
03/08/2019: request for the full manuscript! :)
03/09/2019: manuscript sent! :)

ER: 04/30/2019: very detailed letter explaining the rejection. I much appreciate the time this editor took to point out some of the problems with my manuscript. I asked if I could resubmit after these changes. She said yes! :)

01/04/2021: Sent my reviewed manuscript a couple of months ago. The editor in charge of my manuscript liked it, but the senior editor rejected it. Constructive feedback and helpful exchanges all throughout. Even if it is a rejection, it was a positive experience. :)

7/14/20 - Email saying my manuscript went to a senior editor. Should hear back in 60 days.
10/7/20 - sent message asking if I should withdraw and resubmit due to working with an editor and making substantial changes to the project. They responded they would put it on hold and wait for me to resubmit.
1/27/21 - Emailed asking how to proceed.
1/28/21 - Resubmitted my manuscript. - Rhonda Penders has been my point of contact.
2/8/21- Roseann Armstrong asked for me to submit the manuscript via email with a list of changes. Sent. Should hear back within three months from query-receipt date.
3/21/21 - Thank you, your query for Romeo: Odin's Fury Motorcycle Club has been transferred from Champagne Rose at TWRP and logged into the Scarlet Rose editing department. Your manuscript will be assigned to a Scarlet Rose editor for review. If you have any questions or haven’t received a response to your query by May 15, feel free to e-mail me inquiring as to the status of your submission. - Diana Carlile
3/22/21 - Out of professional courtesy, I wanted to let you know that I had received a contract offer from another publisher today. They are asking for a response by 3/29/21. I have yet to make a decision. If you have an interest in my manuscript, I would be interested in reviewing a contract you have to offer. Regardless of your decision, I appreciate the time and interest you have put into me and my work.
3/23/21 - Congratulations on the offer of a contract, and thank you for letting me know. I can try to move your manuscript to the top of one of the editor's schedule so that we can let you know something before the deadline.
3/28/21 - Rejection. This one hurt. They were my number 2 choice "we're going to pass. I wish you much success with your contrast and hope you have lots of sales."

On March 4, I sent a query (with detailed synopsis and 5 pages, as specified in their submission guidelines) for my suspense novel (71k words) . Got confirmation of receipt right away, saying it would be sent to an editor. Got a request March 12 from an editor in their Crimson division (for mystery/thrillers) asking for the whole manuscript. I've sent it and now will wait to see what happens.
