Got a reply saying my manuscript was pulled for further consideration about 11 months after submitting.

150k Epic Science Fiction
I tried emailing them at least 3 times to let them know that the old version of the book was completely outdated, but there was no way to get through. (This manuscript got a R&R from another publisher and is going through an extensive revision). I emailed them back recommending they put some kind of contact email on their submissions form for situations like this!

REPLY: 6/8/17 - Notified that my manuscript has left the slush pile for further review/consideration. Politely requested a detailed synopsis that I'd forgotten to attach. I'm quite surprised to be given that chance since I clearly didn't follow instruction to the letter (read EVERYTHING carefully, guys! I made an embarrassing first impression, here). They prefer a 4-8 page synopsis.
3/20/18 - E-mailed the contact to mention I'd changed my address (which he updated for me in the system; super nice of him!) and was told (without me asking) approximately how many manuscripts were ahead of and behind mine in the reading line. It definitely takes a while, but I'm blown away by how prompt and kind the slush pile contact person is!
ER: 3/23/2019 - Came with some editorial notes, which was absolutely fantastic given the company. Ultimately, too tight a YA fit for the company though. I deeply appreciated the notes on pacing, though. Somehow it feels right and I've confirmed that this project should be rewritten. Long wait, long journey, but they do respond.

2-28-16 I submitted to them on the advice of another publisher, who said they were having a blast reading my MS but Baen could make a better offer. With no agent, I'm in the slush pile. Not sure I'm patient enough for their wait time, however.

Taking a real chance with this submission. I went through everything they asked for, and they did not demand an agent, but it is on their online form. Got to try.
2/6/13 - No response yet.

FYI: Expect to wait, at the very least, 18 months to hear back from them...and that is for a rejection.
Some have waited almost 3 years....

Thank you for your patience as we considered your novel. Unfortunately, it does not seem right for us.
Due to the volume of manuscripts we receive and the press of other business it is impossible for us to go into particulars. Please do not take this rejection as necessarily a reflection on your work; we can accept fewer than one percent of the manuscripts submitted to us.
Best of luck in another market.
