I always suggest people do their own research (Writer Beware is a wonderful resource) but I advise caution with this publisher. I was offered a contract and turned it down because of the confusing and concerning language. In my email turning down their offer, I (politely) pointed out that their copyright and rights language made me uncomfortable. In response, they told me I was "completely misreading the agreement". I would categorize this publisher as unfriendly to authors, because of the long period of exclusivity they demand during submission, and their contract terms.

I got to this level with Histria:
"if you are invited to submit a formal proposal and a completed manuscript for review by our Editorial Board, we will ask that it first be withdrawn from consideration at other publishing houses because of the time and expense involved in the formal review process"
and then after the review period passed, there was no contact from them and they ignored my emails. Not worth it.

Echoing posts below. Avoid wasting your time with this publisher. They requested my literary historical and I submitted it to them. I held this novel out exclusively for them for six months, as they require (an exceptional length of time BTW). After the six months, , when I had not heard back from them, I started to open up a conversation with another publisher before checking back with Histria. When I mentioned to them that another publisher might be interested in looking at manuscript and asked if they could please let me know about their decision with it, they bounced further consideration of my novel, saying that I had violated their policy by contacting another publisher, even though I had not submitted to anyone else and was still holding the manuscript for Histria. They refused to even indicate whether they would have offered me a contract. In total, they wasted seven months of my time. This is incredibly unprofessional and petty, and could only hamper the efforts of other authors under similar circumstances. Be forewarned!

consider yourself fortunate, unless you don't mind giving up ALL Rights to Histria forever

sirena_raven As I commented below, their contract requires that you grant them ALL RIGHTS. I was offered publication but decided against it. Meanwhile I found a much better publisher through Writer's Market.
