Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

Leave comments about your experiences with this literary agent, or read what other authors have to say.

This is the auto reply I received:

Automatic Reply: Currently Closed to Submissions

Thank you for contacting me! I am currently closed to queries and unsolicited submissions until further notice.

During this period, all emails I receive will be sorted and deleted by an actual human being. If your query falls into one of these categories, I will consider it:

• You’re sending a requested query, partial or full manuscript.
• You’ve been referred by a client or someone I know.
• We’ve met at a conference and I requested your work.
• Your query is something I requested from a Twitter or blog pitch contest.

All other queries, however, will be automatically deleted until I reopen to general submissions. I’ll be happy to see your query then, but if you would rather not wait, do query one of my other colleagues at the Bent Agency:

She liked a tweet of mine in #KidPit (end of March), so I queried her. She replied in 44 days, asking for a full. She replied to my submission with an encouraging note. Fingers crossed!

@ Kidit3: That's a form rejection from her. I got the same email in October 2015.

I can't tell if it's form or personalized, but it's the nicest rejection yet. "Thank you so much for sharing your book with me, I truly appreciate your interest. I've had a chance to review and consider your work and can see how much you've invested in this. Unfortunately, I don't think I'm the right agent for this particular project, so I must pass. But I send this with gratitude and all good wishes for the future."
