Sent my Query to Chris twelve days ago and I have read the comments. I've also been in contact with someone who has signed with him and is very happy with Chris! I know twelve days isn't long so I'm expecting it could take a couple more weeks if I hear back from him. I'm truly hoping that Chris will want to offer me representation. I believe he could help me go far in my career!

@KeithHendricks47: Was it the main website link or the blog link? I did have an issue with my blog that's powered by Wordpress. I'm in the process of retiring it anyway, so I'll take the link down. The main website ( should be fine.

I queried Chris and had direct contact with him and wanted to recommend him to everyone. He's starting his new agency and is a driven man. I had queried him with my MG, which he doesn't work in (or hadn't in the past), and he considered it. He was honest with me, and I with him because at the time we were in contact I had multiple offers and he wanted to tell me he didn't have a ton of experience in MG, but would be interested. Long story short, he read and passed. I'd advise authors to query him with whatever genre you have. He's looking to build, so there's a chance he branches out with your genre if he connects with it. If so, you're getting a guy who will give you personal attention and make you a priority. Sure, you might be worried about his experience in your genre if it's new to him, but an agent who knows the business will catch up on what he/she needs to know. I really think he'll end up being a good one.

@dragonmun: I am indeed interested in literary fiction and narrative non-fiction, but I have greatly expanded my scope since that interview you found and I welcome all queries. I checked the boxes myself on my QueryTracker profile, so please rest assured that if I come up in a search for a specific type of book, I would be happy to receive a query!

Agent's website is under construction so it does not feature manuscript preferences. Found an interview with this agent at that clarifies that agent is "mainly interested in literary fiction and narrative nonfiction" despite the fact that he comes up in all searches here on QT.

Hi everyone,

I thought I would share my stats for Chris. I queried him at his new agency on June 4th, he requested the full on June 9th (which I sent that day), and then he offered representation on June 29th. I accepted his offer last night (July 5th).

His first deal at his new agency was recently announced. It's a six-figure, three book, deal with TOR with an accompanying three-book pre-empt deal in the UK. ( Not too shabby! ;-)
