Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

Leave comments about your experiences with this literary agent, or read what other authors have to say.

Hey Rosewater. I never heard back from Pitch Madness either. I closed it out.

Congratulations on your agent, Hathor! Shame you never heard back, I'm wondering if I should close my partial out on no reply. It's a pitchmadness request from March. Anyone else heard back from PM?

I withdrew my requested partial from a February contest this morning, having accepted representation elsewhere. I think my new agent -- I've got to get used to saying that -- and I will be a better match. So no harm done, I guess. It would have been nice to have heard back, if only an acknowledgement of receiving my sub other than the "closed to queries" one.

3/5/14: referral from fellow agent, FR
3/6: full sent
5/1: nudged her as per her guidelines
9/4: updated her
10/16: nudged her
10/20: she emailed asking if I was open to edits, & requesting a phone call
10/24: a 2-hour phone call in which we discussed my novel & what needed to be changed + R&R offer!
[after many months and several nudges, she never sent me her notes like she promised; I did the R&R anyway]
2/23/15: sent her my MG R&R
5/23: nudged her
5/26: notice of offer of rep received
6/2: promised to get back to me by evening of 6/4
6/4: CNR
YA-->MG Fantasy
*Update:
6/10: She sent me a really nice email, apologizing for not being able to get back to me in time, complimenting me on my edits, and wishing me luck with my novel. It certainly tempered the sting, a bit. :)
