After five years, I've received closure and Venom on my 4.5 year old submission from Nicole. Here's my mini submission history:

EQ 8/11/11 (Venom)
FR 8/31/11(Sent Venom that day)
R&R 12/31/11 (Personalized feedback--agreed to first R&R.)
1st R&R 2/15/15 Sent R&R in, due to life obstacles along the way for the past four years.
Nudge April 2015--she said she was considering it and asked for future projects I might have.
PR 7/7/15 She didn't state on whether partial or full, I sent in both Chain Reaction's and Double Exposure's partials. (I haven't heard from her since she told me, both were in the queue, and she would get back to me. Little did I know, she was on maternity leave then.)
2nd R&R July 2016 After receiving editorial feedback from being shortlisted in contests, writing conferences and previous agent feedback on partials that fell through, I've revised the hell out of it and send it to her for better luck.)
ER 1/26/17 After nudging her via email and then on Twitter last week and via Facebook messenger, I've heard from Julie Gwinn there who would let Nicole know. She also said she would read Venom and CR for me, (and DI next week, since I've put Double Exposure on hold for now.) She made not mention of it. Yesterday she apologized in a kind letter that saying at the time in July 2015, she would've asked for edits and then turn it down with a pass. She's putting a good word for me to Julie, since I'm up for a R&R, due to my two previous R&Rs I've gotten from another agent and small pub since this fall.) At least I have closure and hopeful to hear from Julie. She also passed on Chain Reaction since she didn't connect to it. I believe it was on the 2015 version and not the newest revised versions since it's been changed in 1.5 years since then. I'll be happy to query her with Diplomatic Immunity or other manuscripts someday this spring and in the future, depending on how things turn out with Julie or other agents/pub deals.

5/5/16: Requested full MS via contest
10/4/16: Full sent, received automated response
10/25/16: Nudged with offer of rep, received same automated response

For what it's worth, out of the 11 agents who requested my manuscript, she's the only one who didn't personally confirm receipt or acknowledge my nudge - nothing but crickets (and automatic replies).

Very on point whitewavedarling. Too often, we're so eager for representation that we don't ask these key questions.

So, Nicole's been considering my full since April, and though she at one point told me I'd hear back within a week (that was in June, I believe), I've checked in again since then and have yet to hear back from either of those emails.

That said, I had to post here because I'm in the process of reading some books by various agents who've requested my Full, including Nicole... and I have to say, I was kind of horrified by one of the books I read which Nicole represented; it was, very simply, nowhere near ready for publication. The second I read which she represented had a lot of formatting errors and comma issues that should have been caught in the copy-editing phase. Both authors thanked Nicole in their acknowledgements. As a result of reading these two books, I'm honestly not sure I'd accept representation if she offered it (I'm pretty sure I wouldn't), so I wanted to drop by and suggest that, if you do get an offer, you do a bit of added research before accepting. I'm going to read one more work she represented, but what I've seen so far may as well have been self-published. At this point, based on what I know now, I'd probably discourage others from querying her, or at least suggest a bit more research than you might feel the need to do with other agents/agencies. If she does call me with that oft-wished-for offer, I'm definitely not going to feel comfortable accepting before talking about these couple of books.

EQ: July 27 Same out-of-office auto reply as others have received today. The agency says they'll respond within 2 weeks if interested, but according to QT reports, average positive response time is 19 days--guess I won't close out just yet.
