very polite about taking long to request full ms. if I am still un-represented, and would get back as soon as she can.

I have a gut feeling she would politely pass since the book is hard to sell, but I would be over the moon if she wants to converse further.

Really lovely note requesting the full 80 days after I queried her. Had really been hoping to hear back since she seems just totally awesome. Fingers crossed.

...lots of people got responses after mine. I think she has a maybe pile, though it's brutal waiting!
8/15/22 - - has anybody nudged her? Does she respond kindly to nudges or is it better to assume no news is a pass?
8/22/22. Wah-wah. Very kind, complimentary personalized rejection. I'm trying to keep the faith, but I am bummed. The great response is precisely why I wanted to work with her! But if you're waiting, you're definitely in a maybe pile. Best of luck to all.

8/21/2022: Gracious and complimentary step-aside (doesn't think historical fiction is the easiest fit for her) after notified about an offer of representation.

I'm in the same boat, MorganSloan. In a timeline gap, loads of people after me have responses. Wondering if I'm in a maybe pile or have somehow been skipped.

Having found Rach through QT, and recently having sold my book through her, I just want to tell anyone querying her that she’s an absolutely wonderful person and a fabulous agent. Patrick, I hope it’s ok to add this. You rarely see comments from people after they’ve signed so thought I’d do my bit as this might be helpful to others.

LGBT Literary Fiction

This was the most BEAUTIFUL, touching, and fantastic personalized rejection letter I've received so far out of the agents who've requested a full. She totally understood my book inside and out to where yes, finally, at least one agent actually read the whole thing, and not only that, she understood the entire scope of it instead of cherry-picking bits and pieces and running with it as if they read the whole book when they didn't, but she admitted that she's not the right agent for it and doesn't have a full grasp on how to pitch/sell it commercially. I was blown away by her warmth, kindness, and attention to detail in her letter, it made me smile and warmed my heart. Rachel is one amazing person and undoubtedly one phenomenal agent and any writer will be very lucky to have her as their advocate!
