From her query manager form: 'Thanks for your interest in querying me. As of July 15, 2021 I am closed to queries. I'll reopen when I'm caught up, which I estimate will take about a month.'

Rejected in a matter of minutes (literary/historical, 75k) on a Sunday night. Seems strange, but I guess that's how she operates. Supreme efficiency is better than being left hanging, I suppose!

Thanks for the information. My experience was a while back and I had not comprehended that Ms. Crawford is using Query Tracker form, but rather assumed it to be an in-house submission form of the agency. Anyhow, thanks for the clarity on that aspect of it. Still, the single most frustrating thing in this endeavor is not knowing whether one's work (sample) was read by anyone. Better to know my writing is terrible than to know nothing at all. Oh, well.

It's definitely an odd one. I wonder if there was something missing from my submission which put it on the ignore pile, but being a QueryManager form, it's hard to mess that up.

QueryManager does not have an automatic reject feature, so she must have been working late.

I sent a query very late on a Friday afternoon which was rejected in less than three hours. Don't know, but I believe there must be triggers in the submission form that automatically reject. Either that or folks work late on Fridays.

Odd that some queries get answered and others submitted the same day don't. Wonder what the criteria are for not replying? (only because her response rate is over 50%)

On their website:

"As of April 1st, Gillian MacKenzie Agency and Wolf Literary are now functioning as separate—though closely affiliated—agencies. Their
websites are still under construction, so please refer to this site for information on clients, rights, and speaking bookings."

I had submitted through email about the time she had switched to QueryTracker. So I submitted again. A no is always better than no answer...
