"I'm afraid this isn't right for me, in part due to your word count of 144,000. In Science Fiction, submissions should be no more than 125,000 words on the high-end of the range for debuts. I wish you all the best in finding a good home for your work."

Polite form letter, which is all anyone needs.
AND - 59 days, which is not a big deal.

nltsjnread -
I've read your complaint multiple times because it was at the top of the pile, and it is SO IRRITATING. #1 - no agent owes you their time. #2 - if you know your word count doesn't fall in the guidelines they are telling you, what's the problem? Either your word count was okay for the genre or you obviously know it's NOT okay, so why don't you just fix it? AND - 50 or so days is not a lot of time for a query response sometimes. Agents are human.
And I apologize if I went a little over the top there, I just get irritated about this subject.

"I received a rejection after 51 days with no mention of my word count which doesn't fall into the guidelines she is giving others and also doesn't give me any feedback with which to work."

Rejected due to size. Form letter stating fantasy should be about 90 to 110,000 words.

On Dec 2nd, Eva posted this on Twitter:
"QUERY BOX Update:

I am at October 18th for queries, any queries received prior to that date I’m still thinking but this only impacts a handful. I have 12 fulls on my TBR list, the oldest of which is from July. I am actively reading. I will be closing to queries on December 15."
"I will reopen to queries by February 1st & remain open until May 31st but this will depend on my workload in the new year & my ability to keep up w queries. My stats right now are about 50% of queries answered, 30% of submissions decided on. My aim is to get to 100% by Jan 2020."

"Thank you for giving me the opportunity to consider X. I'm afraid this isn't right for me, in part due to your word count of 150,000. Even though this is Science Fiction your word count should be below125,000. I wish you all the best in finding a good home for your work."

I wish I looked through the comments first or I wouldn't have bothered. She seems really hung up on arbitrary word counts. I understand she's trying to dole out wisdom, but I don't really appreciate anyone telling me what my book "should be"--especially when major publishing houses have put out 200k+ word books in the past six months.

Basically a form rejection, but with the personal touch of specifically addressing my word count:
"Thank you for giving me the opportunity to consider THE WHITE HART. I'm afraid this isn't right for me, in part due to your word count of 175,000. In Fantasy, submissions should be in the 100,000 word range. I wish you all the best in finding a good home for your work."

(Novel is historical fantasy, 175K.)
