"Dear ______,
Thank you for sending me the manuscript for ______. I’m so sorry to have taken so long on it, but I simply can’t take on any more work at this time. Wishing you the best of luck in securing representation."
YA SF, 88k
Incredibly disappointing. Not the rejection itself; based on the wording (which doesn't seem to be his standard form letter based on previous examples) I'm left with the impression he never gave this manuscript a fair shot after nine months, two nudges, and two separate requests. He seems like a passionate and hardworking person but between this experience and his own publishing career, I have to question whether his heart's still in it as an agent or not.
